This place is a refreshing find when it comes to coffee shops. The gentleman who owns this place is very old school and is also the barista. He knows his stuff when it comes to coffee. This was the best cup of coffee I found in Pittsburgh, throughout the week I was there. The pastries are homemade and delicious.
I've seen a few comments before saying that the owner is a little standoffish and rude, and I couldn't fathom it. He chatted with my girlfriend and I while we enjoyed our morning coffee and pastries, and could not have been more pleasant.
This establishment is a cash business. Do not come here if you're looking for a cheap cup of Joe, stick to Dunkin Donuts or 711. This place serves real coffee, the way it should be served. Although the prices reflect that, nothing is over charged.
Definitely recommend stopping by for your morning coffee. -

I can not support this locale business. I think the shop has been there for way to long and the owner is not willing to do any updates this old news papers and being cash only.
When I first got there the owner was two doors down in the ice creamer shop and I had to wait not something someone should do in the service industry. I asked him for a cold brew coffee and he rang me up for it. I tasted the coffee and it was bitter and stale and I asked the man that helped me "is this cold brew" and his respect is "it's yesterday's coffee that I put on ice so it's cold". I asked him if he had any cold brew coffee and he then told me he was the owner and never heard of it. He the. Told me how long he has been in the coffee business and that it sounded like nonsense. To whom ever reads this and does not know what cold brew coffee is it's:
made by steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in room-temperature water for six to 12 hours. This creates a coffee concentrate you mix with cold water or milk. To me the acidity is much less and I like that.
I just can not recommend this shop to anyone that wants to get tread well and expect some one to not keep you waiting and listen to what you order. In the end I met my friend and we went somewhere els to have coffee. This was bad service, bad experience, and over all a let down by a business owner that has been in the industry so pond that he doesn't know what people want and keeps in his old ways. It's not the only place on Mt. Washington to have coffee so trust me go somewhere els.
Oh and if you do go here and the owner is not at the ice cream shop he might have you wait wile he shines the wheels on his Cadillac parked in front of the shop. -

Went there during business hours, on a Saturday, no one was there except a line of ten people, called to ask if anyone was there multiple times and no one showed up. Kinda hard to get coffee if there is no barista...

I really don't like giving bad reviews and compromising the livelihood of wait staff/counter person but since it was the owner who displayed unprofessional behavior ...unwelcoming and frigid . Buddy boy needs to pull it together with that dismissive attitude... summer charm school perhaps and what's up with the unconcealed weapon

$13 for a sugar cookie, medium regular coffee, small white satin mocha... it was pricey but I enjoyed it. Man behind the counter could have been a bit more cheery, but I get it. They offer pastries, fudge and a variety of coffees. They do not have a prices on the pastries so ask before purchasing. The interior had a homie feel with Steelers gear and a few trump ideas. This is a place for your dad to go in and enjoy his coffee. Someone said it is cheaper than starbucks... and I have to disagree.
